FyberSearch Newsletter #28 (11-19-04 through 12-03-04)

FyberSearch has been around for one year! It has been a great 12 months for me and I am looking forward to many more to come. The search industry is very new and I am looking forward to what technology will be developed as time passes. You can read the press release discussing the major developments at FyberSearch by going to http://www.fybersearch.com/pr-3.php

The main focus of this newsletter I would like to be about the future of FyberSearch. What features and options would you like to see developed? What would be most beneficial to your life and business right now if it magically appeared exactly as you pictured it? Email me at owner@fybersearch.com and tell me or read the list below first and see if you like any of my ideas.

Would you like to have an automatic search engine optimization program available to help you achieve higher rankings in search engines? I have heard from many users that the “view a URL like FyberSpider” tool is very useful to them as they optimize there website so maybe a tool specially designed for SEO would be more useful.

Maybe you would like to see me write some tutorials. I could write up some helpful information for people interested in starting their own website or business, search engine optimization, PHP and MySQL.

I could also write articles about search engine and Internet technology in general. Any interest there?

A different idea I had was to develop and release a simple PHP/MySQL script that would allow you to offer a site search on your own website. I have heard that many of the basic site search scripts do not scale to a reasonable number of pages and end up taking way too long to complete a search. I could create a program allowing you to easily setup a couple scripts on your website that will catalog and search your entire collection of documents.

I may decide to do one or all of the above mention tasks but it would be great to know which direction you would like to see me take the most. I would prefer to create something that helps you out instead of something that will just sit on FyberSearch and never be used. Also, feel free to suggest things that are not on the list above.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts :-)
