FyberSearch Newsletter #30 (12-19-04 through 12-27-04)

I hope everyone had a great Christmas :-)

I am going to start formatting the newsletter a little differently to include more information for readers. Instead of just talking about the updates being made to FyberSearch and answering questions I am going to provide an overview of the news posts I have been making at www.nathanenns.com below the FyberSearch related material. I am also planning to write some articles/tutorials in the future and will include those as well.

FyberSearch News:

There haven’t been any updates to FyberSearch in the last week but I have been working on some new features.

1. I am going to install field search shortcuts for most if not all advanced FyberSearch features. An example of this is site:http://www.fybersearch.com would display all pages cataloged from that website.

2. In the novice user search results there will be tools allowing you to tweak your search results just as you can with the intermediate and expert user setting. The difference is that the advanced features will be labeled in normal English instead of with the feature name. I am hoping it will help bridge the gap between advanced searchers and the general public.

3. Feedplex will soon be accepting your XML/RSS/RDF submissions. I am currently working on the technology and plan to provide a useful feed search engine service.
