FyberSearch Core Technology Update
By Nathan Enns on Friday, January 21st, 2005 at 12:00 AM
Just a few hours ago I uploaded a new version of the FyberSearch Web Search core code. This new version is the first of two major technology updates that will be made to the FyberSearch Web Search program in the near future.

After quite a bit of testing this program showed a significant improvement in the relevance and speed department. For example, if you search for search engine marketing the first result is www.sempo.org which many people would consider a very relevant result. Every search engine has queries that provide relevant results and some that do not so obviously the same is true for FyberSearch. In my opinion the results are faster and better than they were before this update.

One of the major changes made to FyberSearch was the domain-clustering feature. Before it would only indent and condense more than one result from the same domain. Now FyberSearch can completely remove results from the same domain. I am pleased that I was able to get this aspect working the way I wanted. You can still view all by turning domain clustering off.

For a complete list of changes please visit the help and features section of FyberSearch at www.fybersearch.com/help-and-features.php

I will soon be posting an official press release discussing this update in more detail as well as giving you more information about the next update that I have planned.

Please let me know what you think of this update. I am always looking to make FyberSearch as good as I possibly can.
